The introduction of new roles, rules of the game, systems etc also require new skills. The introduction of the strategic deployment paradigm therefore also requires appropriate on and off-the-job accompaniment, coaching and training.
Usually, this sets off with so-called awareness sessions at the start of a project (when everyone involved is made aware of the reasons behind the professionalisation move) and deployment training (in programme management and in project management in programmes). Emphasis is laid on the distinction between managing results and managing effects, the roles and responsibilities of the initiators (goal owners) and the project managers (or line managers in the case of running business activities). Additionally, training in communication management in programmes often appears useful.
